Some scientists are not sure of the real reason behind the question why people are having allergies. They said that allergies originated thousand years ago and until today, they do exist. Scientists also believe that allergies can be inherited from our parents, like for example, if a parent has an allergy on something, maybe his or her children are more likely to develop the same allergies.

But leaving the historical aspect, exposure to allergens is the real reason that triggers allergies, especially when one has a weak immune system. Common allergens are pollens from tress, weeds and grasses, house dust, saliva excreted by our pets, smoke from cigarettes, molds, cockroaches and dust mites. And also having some risk factors can also contribute in having allergies. Viral infection and pregnancy are some of the risk factor but absence of having these does not assured us of that we are safe from having allergies.

Some symptoms of having an allergy are very common to others.
