Drug Therapy:  Mold allergy can be treated with systemic corticosteroids. Some physicians also recommend usage of adrenergic agonists, inhaled corticosteroid, nedocromil and theophylline as supportive therapy.

It has also been found that using antifungal drugs has not produced convincing results. Even then in some cases they have treated mold allergy successfully. Some cases of mold induced ABPA is treated by antifungal drugs. This treatment includes usage of drugs like fluconazole and oral erythromycin. Using oral itraconazole and inhaling amphotericin B are also proved to be effective when tried individually.

Other than these, a dose consisting of 300mg of omalizumab has helped in reducing the symptoms of mold allergy quickly.
Surgical Therapy: All symptoms of mold allergy cannot be treated with surgical procedures. The one that can be treated is AFS or Allergic fungal sinusitis. The allergic mucin is removed surgically. This ensures that the obstruction of sinus drainage is no longer there.  Other surgical process that is used for this purpose is: otolaryngologic surgery. This type of surgery is recommended for people suffering from allergic rhinitis, adenoid hypertrophy and chronic adenoiditis.  People who have suffered from mold allergy in the past should stay in a mold free environment.
